Judicial, County Executive Races on Tomorrow's Ballot

Whitefish Bay voters will head to the polls Tuesday to narrow down the field of candidates running for state Supreme Court, Milwaukee County executive and Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

In the race for the high court, three candidates are challenging incumbent Justice David T. Prosser Jr., who has served on the court for 12 years. The challengers are: JoAnne F. Kloppenburg, who has been a litigator and prosecutor at Wisconsin’s Department of Justice since 1989; Joel Winnig, an attorney for more than 30 years; and Maria Stephens, the Appellate Division director for the State Public Defender's office.

Five candidates are running in a special primary election to replace Scott Walker at Milwaukee County executive: philanthropist Chris Abele, community activist Ieshuh Griffin, County Board Chairman Lee Holloway, state Rep. Jeff Stone, and former state senator Jim Sullivan.

And Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Pedro Colon is being challenged by Roy Korte, of Whitefish Bay, and Christoper R. Lipscomb Sr. in for the Branch 18 seat.

In each race, the top two vote-getters will advance to the April 5 general election. There are no local school or municipal primary races on Tuesday.

If you haven't registered to vote yet, you can do so at the polls on Tuesday as long as you have proof of residence, which can include a driver's license or state identification card, a utility bill, property tax bills, leases and other documents. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here are the polling places in Whitefish Bay:

Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4: (upstairs program room), 5420 N. Marlborough Dr.

Wards 5 and 6: , 5300 N. Marlborough Dr. 

Wards 7, 8, and 9: , 5205 N. Lydell Ave.

Wards 10, 11, and 12: , 4950 N. Woodruff Ave.
