In-Person Absentee Voting Ends Today

Voting in person at your municipal clerk's office ends at 5 p.m. today. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day Tuesday and received by the clerk's office by June 8.

Today is the last day to vote absentee for Tuesday's historic gubernatorial recall election.

Voting in person at your municipal clerk's office ends at 5 p.m. today. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day Tuesday and received by the clerk's office by 4 p.m. June 8, according to the state Government Accountability Board.

Other things to keep in mind if considering voting absentee:

  • You must be registered as a voter; if not, you will need to register first.
  • A word of caution: absentee ballots will be entered into voting machines on Election Day just like votes cast in person at the polling sites. If the machines reject an absentee ballot because it was completed erroneously, that ballot will not be counted and there is not the opportunity to get a new ballot to try again.

More information, including the "Top 10 Things a Wisconsin Voter Should Know for Election Day," is available on the state GAB website.

Remember the absentee ballot must be witnessed and signed by the clerk when you hand it in. If it was not, it may not be deemed valid and not counted. If you voted absentee and your ballot was not witnessed, contact the clerk Monday to rectify this.

I love people that call absentee voters lazy, number one is I am in the hospital and I do know that I would not make it to vote. My ballottine was double checked and was image.
