Celebrate National Coffee Day With a Free Cup

Get perked up for a free cup of coffee from Caribou Coffee at Bayshore Town Centre.

For those of you who sleepwalk to the coffeemaker every morning, you now have a national holiday to celebrate your beloved brew.

It's called National Coffee Day, and it's on Saturday. Here are a few local deals to celebrate the holiday:

Caribou Coffee: Caribou is offering a free small cup of Amy’s Blend coffee Saturday. Fans need to show the coupon (image attached to this story) either printed or on their phone. Caribou's nearest location is at Silver Spring Drive and Bayshore Drive.

Amy's Blend, which adds citrus and melon flavors, supports men and women impacted by breast cancer in honor of Caribou's original roastmaster, Amy Erickson, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1995. From Saturday through Nov. 7, Caribou will donate 10 percent of all Amy's blend sales — coffee, tea and merchandise, to CancerCare, a national nonprofit organization committed to providing free support services for anyone affected by cancer diagnosis.

Dunkin' Donuts: Buy a one-pound bag of Dunkin’ Donuts ground roast coffee for $5.99 on Saturday and Sunday. There is a two pound purchase limit.

McDonald’s: Free small premium roast McCafe Saturday at participating locatiosn.

Other local coffee shops will be celebrating without the free coffee perks. No promotions have been announced at Stone Creek Coffee, Alterra and Starbucks.

What’s your favorite blend, and where do you get it? Tell us in the comments.
