Redistricting changes, voter ID requirements take effect for Milwaukee County Circuit Court judicial election

If you're planning to vote in Tuesday's election for a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge seat, you may want to check out the new voting ward map to make sure your polling location hasn't changed.

The make-up of every voting ward in Whitefish Bay has changed, due to the redistricting maps drawn by the state legislature last year. Find out which ward you are in by looking at the ward boundaries map or looking at the ward address list. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Here's where you'll go to cast your vote:

Wards 1-4: Whitefish Bay Public Library, 5420 N. Marlborough Dr.

Wards 5, 6: Village Hall, 5300 N. Marlborough Dr.

Wards 7-9: Lydell Community Center, 5205 N. Lydell Ave. 

Wards 10-12: Cahill Square Park, 4950 N. Woodruff Ave.

Election inspectors will have ward address lists on hand and will help voters identify their new polling place. All residents, regardless of ward change, will be notified of ward assignments in the beginning of March. The village did not have time to notify all village residents about the redistricting changes in time for Tuesday's election, according to a statement on the village website.

Beginning with the February 2012 election, voters are required to show a photo ID before voting. If you do not have a Wisconsin driver’s license or identification card you can obtain one at your local DMV. To learn about getting a free Wisconsin ID card, please visit the Wisconsin Department of Transportation website.
