Two Burglaries in Whitefish Bay Last Week

A neighbor told police that he witnessed a possible burglar jump over his fence Wednesday morning.

Whitefish Bay police are investigating two burglaries that occurred on the south end of the village last week.

The first burglary occurred in the 1800 block of Glendale Avenue between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday. The burglar kicked in a set of french doors and stole $3,500 worth of property, including cameras, cash and a gun.

The second burglary occurred in the 4800 block of Diversey Boulevard between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m Wednesday. The burglar entered through an unlocked back door and stole a bag containing $25 in cash from the kitchen table. A Trek bicycle was also stolen from the driveway.

A neighbor in the 4900 block of Berkeley Boulevard said he saw a man jump over a side yard fence with the bicycle around 5:14 a.m. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. 

Whitefish Bay have at least one suspect in the investigation.

  • One woman's blood alcohol levels registered 0.23 – nearly triple the legal limit– when she was pulled over by police at 12:14 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Hampton Avenue. She was arrested for drunken driving.
  • A Dell laptop computer was stolen from the Jewish Community Center between June 7 and June 9. The computer and software is worth about $1,600.
  • A dog was struck by a Milwaukee County Bus at 5:43 a.m. on July 2 in the 4900 block of N. Marlborough Drive. The dog had run away from its owner, who drove the dog to an emergency animal hospital.
  • A child's bicycle was stolen from an apartment building in the 900 block of Henry Clay Drive between 10 p.m. June 30 and 6 p.m. July 1. The bike was cable locked to the exterior of the basement storage locker.
