Six Vehicles Entered Illegally Last Week

Whitefish Bay police plan to cite a Saukville man in connection with a rash of thefts from vehicles last week.

Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for a rash of thefts from vehicles late Tuesday night.

Fox Point police arrested the Saukville man, who was driving a van containing a large number of used syringes, a window punch and items connected to thefts in Whitefish Bay and Fox Point. The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office did not issue charges in connection with the Whitefish Bay auto entries, but Whitefish Bay police say they will issue their own citations.

  • The rear passenger window of a car was broken sometime between 10:30 p.m. July 9 and 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 5000 block of Bay Ridge Avenue. Stolen items include sunglasses, headphones, a binder and compact discs.
  • A GPS navigation device, $7 in change and an unopened package of bike socks were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 5000 block of Bay Ridge Avenue sometime between 9:30 p.m. July 8 and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. 
  • A stethoscope, paramedic books, a case of 40 CDs and a brand new pair of Skechers shoes were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 5000 block of Bay Ridge Avenue sometime between 10 p.m. July 9 and 12 p.m. Wednesday. 
  • The glove compartment of an unlocked car was rifled through sometime between 11 p.m. July 9 and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of Woodruff Avenue. Nothing was stolen.
  • An unlocked car in the 900 block of Hampton Avenue was entered between 10 p.m. July 9 and 7 a.m. Wednesday. Stolen items include a shoulder bag with medical papers, a lighted magnifying glass and a road emergency bag. A homeowner in the 4800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard later found the shoulder bag in his recycling bin and turned it over to police, which then returned it to the auto entry victim.
  • A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 5000 block of Hollywood Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Friday. The purse contained a debit card, prepaid cell phone, and $20 in cash. The debit card was used to make four purchases from the BP gas station at North Avenue and Humboldt Boulevard.
