Pranksters Block Streets With Patio Furniture

Potted plants, patio furniture and a full-sized soccer goal were among the items blocking the streets late Saturday night.

A group of pranksters blocked village streets with items from neighboring lawns late Saturday night.

At 2:45 a.m. Sunday, a Whitefish Bay police officer removed two planters and a full-size soccer goal obstructing the 5400 block of Diversey Boulevard. One block away, in the 5300 block of Diversey Boulevard, an officer removed additional barricades and brush, according to Whitefish Bay police logs.

About an hour later, the officer found a patio table, chairs and umbrella in the middle of the 800 block of Sylvan Avenue. The officer identified the owner of the property, who told police she believes the items were moved into the roadway by unknown pranksters sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday.
