Police Report: When the Car’s A-Rockin', Police Come A-Knockin'

A young couple were caught in the act last week.

A Milwaukee man and Waukesha woman, both 20 years old, were found having sex in view of the public while parked in a vehicle in the 800 block of East Henry Clay Street at 11:16 p.m. on July 1.

Officers said the vehicle was parked in the street under a streetlight and was "rocking violently in an upward and downward motion." When police shined a flashlight into the backseat of the vehicle, the two scattered in an attempt to put their clothes back on but were still exposed.

Officers could smell marijuana on the man, and when asked if they had anything else the officers should be aware of, the man pulled a marijuana pipe out of his pocket.

The man was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia, and lewd and lascivious behavior. The woman was released and mailed a citation for lewd and lascivious behavior.

In other police news:

• About 10 unidentified people fled from the beach area south of after police arrived at 9 p.m. June 28. Alcohol and drug paraphernalia was recovered from the beach and destroyed.

• A 55-year-old bicyclist from Milwaukee was transported to a hospital after he was struck by a 10-year-old on a skateboard in the 5500 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 3 p.m. June 30.
