Police Report: Thefts from Cars; Drunk Man Calls Paramedics

Whitefish Bay police also arrested man for stealing the emblem from a Mercedes last week.

Valuables were stolen from two unlocked cars in the past week:

An iPod, leather bag and change was stolen from an unlocked BMW in the 5500 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard sometime between 4 p.m. Oct. 8 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 9. The total value of stolen items totals $460.

A car stereo, binoculars, sunglasses and scissors were stolen from an unlocked vehicle sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday. The total value of the stolen items totals $200.

  • A 53-year-old Whitefish Bay man that had been drinking rum ‘all day’ Wednesday called paramedics to check his vitals. North Shore Fire Department paramedics arrived at the man’s home on the 6200 block of North Lydell Avenue at 5:30 p.m. and found the man was able to care for himself and was in no danger.
  • Police arrested a 24-year-old Germantown man for stealing the emblem from a Mercedes parked in a driveway in the 5900 block of North Kent Avenue last week. A caller reported the man was sleeping in the alley in the 5900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard around 11 p.m. on Oct. 10, and police soon found the man at East Belle Avenue and North Bay Ridge Avenue. He was arrested for prowling, criminal damage to property and theft.
  • A Trek bicycle valued at $430 was stolen from the grounds sometime between 7:25 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 11.
  • A 32-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving on East Hampton Road at Oakland Avenue at 3 a.m. Saturday morning. His blood alcohol content was 0.13.
  • An 85-year-old Whitefish Bay woman struck three parked vehicles at East Henry Clay and North Diversey at noon Sunday. She was cited with failure to keep her vehicle under control.
  • A 55-year-old Menomonee Falls woman was ticketed for driving 50 mph in a 15 mph school zone at Hampton Road and Wildwood Avenue at 8 a.m. Friday.
