Police Report: Strong Arm Robbery, Attempted Burglary

The latest news from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

Two 15-year-old Milwaukee boys allegedly knocked over a 17-year-old Whitefish Bay boy in an attempted mugging near the area of East Lancaster Avenue and North Marlborough Drive at 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

The two boys knocked the boy down and asked for his wallet and cell phone, but received neither, said Police Chief Robert Jacobs. Officers located the two boys within five minutes at 5300 N. Idlewild Ave. and they were taken into custody at Milwaukee County Children's Center on charges of battery and attempted robbery. Jacobs said the boys were not carrying a weapon.

  • Police believe an attempted home break-in occurred sometime between 6:10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at a home on the 4600 block of North Ardmore. Police discovered pry marks on the door and a pry tool was located nearby. No property was stolen from the home, which was vacant at the time.
  • An unknown group gained entrance to Dominican High School last week and discharged  a fire extinguisher in a hallway and stairwell. School officials estimate the damage totals $250 and the fire extinguisher will cost $100 to replace. School officials believe the incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 2 a.m. Tuesday.
  • A 21-year-old Whitefish Bay man fled from Milwaukee Police Department officers early Wednesday morning, and Whitefish Bay officers were called to help locate the man at 1:42 a.m.  Police were unable to locate the man or his vehicle.
  • A 42-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to Milwaukee County Criminal Justice Facility Wednesday night after he allegedly abused his 35-year-old girlfriend at a Kent Avenue home. A temporary restraining order was placed on the man the next day, and he faces an injunction hearing March 10 in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
  • A semi truck backed into a Toyota Camry stopped in traffic at 11:43 a.m. Feb. 21. The 51-year-old Waukesha man driving the truck was cited for unsafe backing. The driver of the Camry was a 39-year-old Shorewood woman.
