Police Report: Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Lewd Conduct in Sendik's Lot

The latest reports from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

A vehicle that was was recovered after a traffic stop on Oakland Avenue Tuesday.

Milwaukee Police Department officers stopped the vehicle at 7:31 p.m. Tuesday on Oakland Avenue when the plate came back stolen. The driver, a 27-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

The man told police he gave a friend $50 to use the vehicle, and he did not know it was stolen. There was no obvious damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle owner responded to the scene, and the vehicle was released to him. The owner turned over several items in the car that did not belong to him, including a credit card, a GPS unit and an iPod. He told police that the key recovered with the vehicle is the valet key he kept in the glove box.

  • A 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct at 4:30 p.m. Sunday for calling a woman over to his van in the parking lot at and "pleasuring himself" as he was speaking with her.
  • Three 18-year-old Whitefish Bay men were caught with marijuana at 12:53 a.m. Monday in . Police found 1.1 grams of marijuana in a search of one of the men's vehicles, but one of the other men later came to the police department to claim responsibility for the drug. The man that owned the vehicle was booked for possession of fraudulent identification.
  • A 26-year-old Milwaukee man called police to get a ride to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee area at 1:25 a.m. Saturday. Police called the man a cab and warned him not to call police for rides.
  • A resident reported a coyote in her backyard in the 5100 block of Elkhart Avenue at 2:39 p.m. Saturday. When the officer entered the backyard, the coyote ran away.
  • A man was caught on video stealing a $34 bottle of Ketel One vodka from at 2:34 p.m. Wednesday.
  • An automatic alarm notified police that two vehicles parked in a driveway in the 4600 block of North Murray Avenue were entered Thursday night or Friday morning. Change was taken from both vehicles.
