Police Report: Home Burglary on Elkhart Avenue

Whitefish Bay police also responded to reports of stolen liquor and an angry high school parent this week.

A 14-year-old Shorewood boy and a 14-year-old Milwaukee boy were arrested Friday night after they were caught stealing from a home on the 5000 block of North Elkhart Avenue.

The residents reported arriving home at about 5:45 p.m., when they saw the two boys flee through the back door, run through their backyard and into their neighbor’s yard.

The stolen property – two watches, credit cards and $20 in change – was later recovered when Shorewood police arrested the boys. The boys were transported to the Milwaukee Children’s Court Center.

  • A man that stole a bottle of Ketel One vodka from went unnoticed at the time of the theft but was later caught on video surveillance footage Friday afternoon. Officers detected the man’s license plate number and are following up on the theft.
  • An angry parent yelled and used profane language with a teacher in her classroom during a “Meet the Teachers” event at Wednesday night. The teacher reported feeling uncomfortable when the man would no leave her room and not allow her to leave the room. The man was ordered into the police department Monday.
  •  A 49-year-old Milwaukee man and a 21-year-old Milwaukee woman are suspected of smuggling five bottles of liquor into a bag before being confronted by an employee at CVS Pharmacy at 4:35 p.m. Saturday.
