Police Report: Four Vehicle Break-ins Saturday Night

Unlocked vehicles entered in the southeastern corner of the village.

Cash, CDs and pills were just a few of the items stolen from five vehicles in the southeastern corner of the village Saturday night.

The car thefts were reported at four different homes in a three-block area between Hampton Road and Cumberland Boulevard, just west of North Oakland Avenue:

  • Three or four dollars in change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1500 block of East Blackthorne Place sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Sunday.
  • Another vehicle on the block was entered between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:50 a.m. Sunday.  About $1 in change was stolen, but an iPod touch was not stolen from the unlocked vehicle.
  • Another unlocked vehicle was entered during the same time period on the adjacent 1600 block of East Blackthorne Place. The unknown suspect stole 20 Adderall pills and an unknown amount of loose change sometime between 6 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
  • One block away, on the 4700 block of North Bartlett Avenue, a resident reported $20 cash, $50 in gift certificates, a credit card and $150 in CDs were stolen from two vehicles between 10 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
