Police Report: Foot Chase, Bottle Bombs and Glove Theft

The latest reports from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

When police pulled over a vehicle in the 6200 block of Lake Drive early Thursday morning, the driver, a 22-year-old Milwaukee man, pulled in to a residential driveway and fled police on foot.

Officers from Whitefish Bay and Fox Point were unable to locate the man in the pursuit at 2:06 a.m. Thursday. Police later identified the suspect, who has open warrants through the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office. Police contacted him Friday, and he agreed to turn himself in.

The man has been cited with entering land without consent, resisting an officer, failure to display license plates, failure to stop for an emergency, operating after sspension and operating without proof of insurance.

In other police news:

  • A man reportedly stole a cotton glove from a 60-year-old Glendale woman's left jacket pocket at 6:42 p.m. Dec. 12 at Lexington Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. The man then fled northwesterly, but police officers from Whitefish Bay, Shorewood and Glendale were unable to locate the man after the woman reported the crime.
  • Whitefish Bay public works employees found broken locks on the south and west doors of the Klode Park warming house Tuesday morning. Employees believe the damage occurred between 4 p.m. Monday and 7:42 a.m. Tuesday.
  • Six to seven teens reportedly threw bottle bombs at a 14-year-old Whitefish Bay boy while he was walking in the 100 block of Fairmount Avenue at 9:37 p.m. Friday night. Police stopped a vehicle in the 5100 block of Marlborough Drive and searched the vehicle with consent from the six teens in the vehicle, who denied involvement. Several other teens told officers they had bottle bombs thrown at them, as well.
  • Employees at , 240 E. Hampton Rd., called police after recognizing known cross-dressing shoplifters in the store at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Police advised the 17-year-old and 19-year-old Milwaukee men that they are banned from CVS.
  • A 25-year-old Franksville man reported the front passenger window of his car was smashed in the CVS parking lot Monday night between 8 p.m. and shortly after midnight. The damage is estimated at $150.
