Police Report: Drunk Drivers, Thin Ice and More

A 44-year-old Glendale man’s blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit when police pulled him over just after midnight Saturday in the 4800 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard.

Police pulled the man over at 12:05 a.m. Saturday after the car failed to stop at a stop sign at Bartlett Avenue and Hampton Road and continued to weave within the westbound traffic lane on Hampton Road. He was cited for operating without proof of insurance, operating while intoxicated, prohibited blood alcohol content and failing to stop at a stop sign. He was turned over to a responsible party two hours later.

  • A 40-year-old Milwaukee man found passed out in his car early Sunday morning was arrested for drunken driving. Police were called to check on the man, who was parked in the 900 block of East Lexington Boulevard at 4:06 a.m. Sunday. With a blood alcohol content of 0.12, he was cited for operating while intoxicated, prohibited blood alcohol content and possession of open intoxicants. He was released to responsible party two hours later.
  • A 78-year-old man drove into his garage door in the 5000 block of North Lydell Avenue on Friday afternoon. Police were called to the house at 4:36 p.m. Friday when a neighbor reported hearing a loud crash. The driver told police he was parking his vehicle when his foot slipped from the brake and he struck the garage door. He declined any medical treatment.
  • A Mequon woman reported on Tuesday her daughter’s $63 snow boots were stolen from the , 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., sometime on Dec. 13 or Dec. 14.
  • Police had to warn two different groups of people to stay off of the ice floe on Lake Michigan this week. A 51-year-old Milwaukee man and his 17-year-old son voluntarily got off the ice at 1 p.m. Saturday after police warned them of the danger of thin ice. Police warned a different group of people about 1 p.m. Sunday.
