Police Report: Dangerous Drunk Driver; Kids Climb the High School

The latest police reports also include stolen bikes, political signs and groceries.

A 32-year-old Milwaukee man doubled the speed limit and the legally-allowed blood alcohol limit when he was pulled over in the early morning hours Thursday.

The man was going 51 mph in a 25 mph zone when Whitefish Bay officers pulled him over for drunken driving at 1:49 a.m. Thursday in the 4800 block of N. Santa Monica Blvd. He was taken into custody for operating while intoxicated, and a test revealed his blood alcohol content was 0.17.

  • A homeowner in the 6100 block of N. Berkeley Boulevard reported his "Stand with Scott Walker" sign was stolen from his front yard sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

  • A caller reported several juveniles were throwing rocks at passersby from the roof of  at 8:41 p.m. Sunday. Seven kids, ages 15 and 16, were questioned by police, and some of the kids admitted to going on the roof. Officers removed a plastic pool ladder from a section of the roof. 

  • A 64-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft at at 12:34 p.m. Thursday. Officers also took the man into custody for trespassing. He was transported to the Whitefish Bay Police Department, booked and turned over to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department on four outstanding warrants.

  • A 15-year-old Whitefish Bay boy was cited for littering after a cop saw him throw a beverage can at a vehicle at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulvard and Silver Spring Drive at 8:11 p.m. Sunday. The police contacted the boy's parents about the incident.

  • A 30-year-old Glendale woman had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 when she was pulled over in the 300 block of Hampton Avenue at 1:19 a.m. Saturday. The driver was cited with operating while intoxicated and failure to change lanes while passing a stopped emergency vehicle. Her passenger, a 35-year-old Glendale man, was cited with failure to notify address change and not wearing a seatbelt. 

  • Two bikes were reported stolen this week from the  bike racks. One of the bikes, a red Trek valued at $500, was left unlocked at the west side bike lock at about 7:45 a.m. March 5 and was stolen by 3 p.m. the same day.  An older bicycle valued at $30 was reported stolen from the middle school bike racks sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday. The bike is an old men's Kabuki, maroon in color, with fenders and upright handlebars.
