No Charges Will Be Filed Against Dominican Coach

The Milwaukee County's District Attorney's Office said it will not prosecute allegations of sexual assault made against Dominican High School boys basketball coach and athletic director Paul Wollersheim.

Wollersheim was drinking with co-workers at the Silver Spring House in Glendale the night of May 24 to celebrate the last day of school. A female teacher agreed to give him a ride back to the school so he could retrieve his keys from his office.

While at the school, a little after 1 a.m. on May 25, the female teacher claimed Wollersheim made sexual advances in the school's board room. She told police she eventually pushed him away and exited the room.

Wollersheim told police he did not make any sexual advancements toward the female teacher.

Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Paul Tiffin declined to issue charges on July 2. On the accuser’s request, the case was further reviewed by Deputy District Attorney Patrick Kenney. Whitefish Bay police were notified on July 3 that the office would not file charges against Wollersheim.

Dominican High School Head of School Leanne Giese released the following statement Tuesday:

“Dominican High School is aware that the district attorney will not be filing charges against Paul Wollersheim. This is a confidential personnel matter and therefore Dominican High School cannot make any further comment. We take seriously our responsibility to honor and support our Sinsinawa Dominican values of truth, compassion, justice, community and partnership. Our primary priority at this time is ensuring the well-being of our students and providing them with a positive and supportive learning environment.”

Wollersheim, who has been with the school for 17 years, led the Knights to a Division 4 WIAA state championship in March. The Knights finished the season with a 27-1 record and were 16-0 in their conference last season.
