Burglary Reported on Oakland Avenue

About $5,000 in property was stolen from a home in the 4900 block of Oakland Avenue at 10:58 a.m. May 7.

A man living in the 4900 block of Oakland Avenue was taking a shower on a Tuesday morning when he heard strangers in his house.

At 10:58 a.m. on May 7, he heard what sounded like a 19-year-old man yell "Let's get the (expletive) out of here!" Then he heard them run down the front stairs and out of the house, slamming the front door behind them, according to the police report.

They stole $5,000 worth of property, including a laptop computer and expensive golf clubs from the unlocked entryway of the house. They also stole two bicycles that had been cabled together outside of the house.

Whitefish Bay police were able to gather partial fingerprints from the scene, but have so far been unable to find the burglar. Neighboring residents did not report seeing anything unusual.
