When cops pulled up next to his vehicle, this Whitefish Bay man "freaked out" and shifted the car into reverse at 24th and Burleigh.

On Sept. 23, two Milwaukee police officers were on patrol in the 3100 block of North 24th Street, when they saw Wilks run through a stop sign, then turn onto West Auer Avenue and pull to the side of the road. The officers pulled next to him and turned on their lights and as they got out, Wilks made eye contact with them, put his car in reverse and slowly began to back up.

The officers got back into their squad and turned on their siren as they followed Wilks, who again stopped, put the car in reverse again and slowly rolled backwards on Auer again before finally coming to a stop.

His car reeked of marijuana and Wilks told the officers he had smoked the drug and “freaked out” because he was caught off guard by the cops. Officers searched Wilks and discovered he was carrying a baggie of marijuana between his buttocks.

He’s currently free on a $250 signature bond while awaiting trial.
