Another Two Burglaries Reported in Whitefish Bay

Another two burglaries were reported in Whitefish Bay last week, which comes on the heels of two burglaries reported the week prior.

Here's the latest on last week's burglaries:

• A burglar broke in through a glass kitchen door of a home in the 5700 block of N. Shore Drive around 1 a.m. on Oct. 1. They stole a black Brighton brand purse containing several credit cards and $120 in cash. The burglar also stole a black diaper bag filled with diapers. The credit cards were quickly canceled, and all of the property except the cash was later found in a neighbor's back yard.

• A resident in the 6000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard returned home around 9 p.m. Oct. 3 to find an open patio door and the sound of banging on the second floor. The burglar was not seen, but is believed to have escaped out of a second story window. Police later determined the burglar used a pry bar to open the patio door. The homeowner's wallet is the only item that appeared to be missing from the home.

• A man was found in a garage in the 5000 block of Hollywood Avenue at 2:52 a.m. on Oct. 1. After an investigation, police learned that the male knew the homeowners but was not welcome on the property at that time. The intruder matched the description of a suspicious man spotted 15 minutes earlier in the 4600 block of Elkhart Avenue. At that time, he asked a local resident for directions to Hollywood Avenue, saying he needed insulin or he would die.
