14 Vehicles Illegally Entered in One Night

Phone chargers, money and other items were stolen from vehicles in the south end of the village Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

The south end of the village was hit by a string of auto entries Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. The thieves broke the windows of three cars, and entered another 11 cars by opening unlocked car doors.

Here are the details of the auto entries reported to Whitefish Bay police:

  • An unknown person smashed the front driver's side window of a car and stole 35 cents from the cupholder sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday. The car was parked in a driveway in the 5000 block of Shoreland Avenue. 
  • The front driver's side window of a vehicle was smashed sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 12:20 a.m. Thursday while parked off the alley in the 100 block of Henry Clay Drive. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
  • Another car's front driver's side window was smashed in the same alley sometime between 12:20 a.m. Wednesday and 7:45 a.m. Thursday. The thief stole $6 and a flash drive from the vehicle.
  • A dollar in change, a phone charger and sunglasses were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 4900 block of Diversey Boulevard sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.
  • An iPhone charger was stolen from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4800 block of Idlewild Avenue sometime between 7:24 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. Another vehicle in the driveway was entered, but nothing was stolen.
  • A Nintendo 3DS was stolen from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4900 block of Diversey Boulevard between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday. The thief also broke into a detached garage and stole two Trek road bicycles. 
  • An older model iPod was stolen from an unlocked car in the 4900 block of Hollywood Boulevard sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.
  • A dollar in change and an iPhone charger were taken from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4800 block of Diversey Boulevard sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.
  • Sunglasses, CDs and an iPhone charger were stolen from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 4900 block of Diversey Boulevard sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
  • A coin dispenser and $3 in change was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 4800 block of Diversey Boulevard sometime between 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday. 
  • A homeowner in the 4800 block of Berkeley Boulevard reported his unlocked garage and two unlocked vehicles were rummaged through, although nothing was found missing. The entry occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday.
  • A GPS navigator and $30 in change was stolen from an unlocked car in the 4900 block of Diversey Boulevard sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
