Obituary: Rev. Victor R. Capriolo

The priest who served St. Monica's Parish in the 1980s was killed in an accident last week. Archbishop Jerome Listecki will preside over the funeral services.

Capriolo, Rev. Victor R. “VIC 4 JC” arrived home on August 22, 2012.

Beloved son and guardian angel of Julia and Samuel Capriolo. Cherished brother of Mike (Rita) Capriolo, Dr. Mark (Karen Kroll) Capriolo, and Carol (Bill) Burczyk. Dear uncle of Tony (Sky) Capriolo, Christine (Dave Nelsen) Capriolo, Jamie, Jason and Jayk Burczyk. Dear great uncle of Sidra, Zalen and Nelsen Capriolo. Further survived by many relatives, friends, people of faith and co-workers in the vineyard.

Ordained to the priesthood on May 29, 1971, and served at Immaculate Conception in Milwaukee, St. Joseph in Grafton, St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, , the Diocese of Juneau in Alaska, St. Nicholas in Milwaukee, St. Bernard in Wauwatosa and since 1998 Holy Family Parish in Fond du Lac.

Fr. Vic loved the outdoors, especially Alaska, was an avid biker, canoed, enjoyed being teased by fish, loved snow skiing, but he is most remembered for his love of people, the poor and a good joke.

Visitation Monday, August 27 from 2:00-7:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at Holy Family, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac. A second visitation will be held at Holy Family on Tuesday, August 28 from 9:00-10:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM presided by Archbishop Jerome Listecki. Interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery.
