Obituary: Edward Leo Sweeney

Sweeney, 90, worked 35 years for Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. and raised funds for the construction of Dominican High School.

Blessed husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and loyal friend. Edward Leo Sweeney was born August 18, 1922 in Reedsburg, WI and born to eternal life on May 8, 2013.

Edward was the youngest of six children born to the late Edward and Ida (nee Byrne) Sweeney. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he worked for the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co., retiring as Director of City Sales after a 35 year career. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Marion Sweeney (nee Graessle) of Glendale; daughter Mary Ellen of Highland Park, ILL. and sons James (Rita) and Patrick (Candace) both of Milwaukee. He is further survived by grandchildren Megan, Ryan, Bridget and Gabrielle, and by six great-grandchildren.

Owing to his faith and belief in education, our husband and father helped canvas Glendale and Whitefish Bay neighborhoods to support the construction of Dominican High School.
