Community Corner

NSPN Event: Social Skill Development Across the Ages

The North Shore Parent Network in collaboration with the school districts of the north shore invite you to an evening of information and networking.

Who: Parents, professionals, educators and community members with interest in the special educational needs of students in the early childhood, elementary, middle and high schools of the north shore and beyond.

What: Dr. Rick Clark's interactive presentation will address social development across ages and abilities.  His talk will include examples, resources and participatory exercises.  As many have experienced, a child will often "know what to do" in talking about a social challenge, but will have a great deal of difficulty applying that knowledge in the heat of the moment.  Emphasis will be on the stages in the development of social problem-solving skills and ways to help children recognize social cues and respond effectively to them.  Dr. Clark is a child clinical psychologist who practices out of St. Francis Children's Center.  Please include questions for Dr. Clark in your RSVP.
