Whitefish Bay High School Music Department Concert

Enjoy an evening filled with music performed by the Whitefish Bay High School's Band, Choir and Orchestra.

The Orchestra will present an engaging performance of Hershey Kay's up-beat Cakewalk, senior violinist Emma Romell will perform Fritz Kreisler's Praeludium and Allegro arranged for solo violin and string orchestra and close with a swinging rendition of Five Ukrainians in a Bell Tower!

Emma Romell started playing violin in K4 kindergarten, and since age 5 has been a music student of Carol Waldvogel, of Glendale. Over the years, Emma has earned numerous superior ratings in solo and duet performance at the Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs' annual festivals. In 2009, she was one among winners of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Bach Double Competition, and performed that piece on stage with the symphony. She has earned three Exemplary State Soloist Awards in the solo and ensemble contest of the Wisconsin School Music Association. Emma has studied at the American Suzuki Institute's music camp at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point for the last 12 summers. She considers the camp her second home, and credits much of her success, especially as a chamber musician, to her time there. Last summer Emma auditioned for the University of Wisconsin - Madison's music scholarship award and received the second alternate position. She will be attending the university next fall.
