Week in Review: April 24 to April 30

Vehicle thefts, an eco-fair and more made the headlines of Whitefish Bay Patch this week.

In case you missed it, here are some of the top headlines from Whitefish Bay Patch this week:

A laptop, computer tower and clothing were stolen from a home in the 4800 block of North Anita Avenue on April 23. In addition to the burglary, four more thefts from vehicles were reported during the week of April 17 to April 23.

Villagers came together Saturday morning to admire rain barrel art, pick up trash across the village, learn about environmental sustainability and recycle truckloads of old electronics. Check out the photo gallery!

Patch photographer Jim LaValley put together a gallery of photos from the girls softball tournament in Whitefish Bay Saturday.Β  The Lady Blue Dukes team lost 14-10 to Wauwatosa East in the tournament, which also included Milwaukee Hamilton, Shorewood, Brookfield Central, and Wauwatosa West.

By the end of day one of the state Supreme Court recount, the Waukesha County Board of Canvassers came close to finishing just one of the county's three dozen municipalities, with Justice David Prosser picking up six votes over JoAnne Kloppenburg. The state Government Accountability Board is posting daily recount tallies from the 72 counties here.
