Budget beginnings: The Whitefish Bay Village Board begins its work on the 2012 village budget this week, starting with a special board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at .

Want to meet a famous ex-Packer? at 6 p.m. Monday night. Those interested in meeting Leroy Butler and obtaining an autograph must first purchase a 2012 calendar from Wisconsin Gives Back. Calendars are $15, $9 of which will benefit the Leroy Butler Foundation. The first 50 customers to purchase the calendar at the event will also receive a panoramic Madison poster, a $25 dollar value.

State of the district: Whitefish Bay School District Superintendent Mary Gavigan will share the vision of the district, as well as the district's successes, challenges and opportunities on the horizon in a address at 7 p.m. Tuesday at .

Give the gift of life: A blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at . Walk-ins are welcome.

Trying to avoid the flu? The Shorewood/Whitefish Bay Health Department will be administering flu vaccinations at flu clinics from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday. at , 3920 N Murray Ave. The clinic is open to those 18 and older. The cost is $30. Medicare will be billed if Medicare Part B is primary insurance. No appointment is needed.

If you can't make it during the week, the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at , 5800 N Bayshore Dr. Cost for a seasonal flu vaccination is $30 when paying by cash or check, and pneumonia shots are $65.  Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage Plans and Medicaid are accepted as payment. You must be age nine or older to receive vaccination.
