Week Ahead: Ice Cream Social, Farmers Market and More

Village Board meeting: The Village Board will meet  at 7 p.m. Monday night, and among the items on the agenda is the consideration of Anytime Fitness' request to operate outside of the village's traditional retail hours. The fitness club is considering purchasing the building that currently houses .

Three words: free ice cream. The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation's last of the summer will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Schoolhouse Park, across from the Whitefish Bay Library. The event will feature family fun, the sounds of the Alexian Accordion Club and – of course – free ice cream!

School Board: On the same night, at 7 p.m., the School Board will hold its regular business meeting, and afterward, the Instruction Committee will meet to discuss the 2010-2011 District Assessment Report.

Summer Sounds: Just a little south of the village limits, Shorewood will host another round of its 2011 at Hubbard Park Thursday evening. This week's band is Mrs. Fun.

Farmers market: The will revisit the corner of Berkeley Boulevard and Silver Spring Drive Saturday morning. This week's theme is Green Homes and Gardens.
