Week Ahead: Homecoming Festivities, Village Meetings

Whitefish Bay High School will celebrate homecoming week with a spirit concert, parade, football game and a Saturday night dance.

Whitefish Bay is full of Duke Pride this week, as the high school celebrates homecoming week with a variety of activities:

Spirit Concert and Minute to Win It: The Spirit Band will light up the high school auditorium with a special effect glow-in-the-dark percussion feature, upbeat contemporary pop music, and even a special guest. The concert is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Homecoming Parade: The parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. Friday on Marlborough Drive and Birch Avenue and will proceed south on Marlborough until reaching Lubar Field. The football team plays Homestead at 7 p.m. Friday.

Homecoming Dance: The homecoming dance will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Gym of Whitefish Bay High School. Tickets will be on sale until 3:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets cost $15 per person.

Village Board meeting: Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday to accept ownership of the council ring in Buckley Park, award the sale of general obligation refunding bonds, to discuss an ordinance regarding assessments for improvements to property and adjoining infrastructure, and to discuss an addendum to the village turf management plan that reflects the changes made at the last board meeting. School Board meeting: The board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in room 49 of Whitefish Bay High School. View the agendas here.

Whitefish Bay Suzuki Stars concert: Young students will perform an interactive concert at the library Wednesday night, and also offer interested audience members the chance to play a few notes on the violin. The concert will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Whitefish Bay Library.
