Week Ahead: Holiday Stroll, Village Budget Hearing

Enjoy some family time this Thanksgiving week at the Holiday Stroll and a movie at the library.

 

Here's a look at some of the events in our events calendar this week. If we're missing, you can add it to the calendar.


Are you concerned about the 2.6 percent tax levy increase in the proposed village budget? The Whitefish Bay Village Board will hold a public hearing on the budget during its Monday night meeting. Trustees will also discuss stormwater sewer improvements, a proposal to build an 'event pad' in the Silver Spring parking lot and two possible referendum questions on the size and scope of the Milwaukee County Board. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.

Whitefish Bay kicks off the Holiday season with the annual Holiday Stroll on Silver Spring Drive from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. The parade begins at 6 p.m. at the corner of Kent Avenue and Silver Spring Drive, heading east on Silver Spring Drive ending at Lake Drive. Visit Santa after the parade and partake in the tree lighting ceremony, rides, entertainment and shopping.


The Bay Players will hold auditions for their winter production Wrong Window, written by Billy VanZandt and Jane Milmore, at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. The Bay Players are looking for three women and five men, ages 20 to 70, for the play.

Need something to do the day after Thanksgiving? Come to the to see "Cars 2". The movie is rated G, with a runtime of 106 minutes. Please pick up your tickets at the Youth Services desk. Feel free to bring a snack and drink. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
