Week Ahead: Women's Club Rummage Sale, Cumberland Talent Show

: The shops along Silver Spring Drive are promoting everything green, natural and organic about their products this week. You can participate by donating your old sneakers at , have your child paint a flower pot at Starbucks and more. Check the BID's website for details.

: Local author Susanna Carlson will present her new children's novel "The Time the Earth Shook" at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Children's author Elizabeth Witchik, illustrator Anna Murfield and Orange Hat Publishing owner Shannon Ishizaki will join Susanna in a discussion about self-publishing.

: The Whitefish Bay School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday to elect board officers, hear a presentation summarizing health insurance bids and discuss numerous curriculum proposals.

: The Whitefish Bay Women's Club will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at . A bag sale wil be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

: students will sing, dance, act, beatbox and more at two all-school Talent Shows on Saturday – one at 10 am and another at 6 p.m. – in the school's Great Room. The school's PTO is hosting both shows. The evening show will be opened by harmonica player Jim Liban.

Prom: This year's prom, themed 'Welcome to Las Vegas', will be held Saturday in the Harbor Lights Room at O'Donnell Park. Tickets are $60 per person and include dance admission, dinner and admission to the post prom party, which will be held at the high school.
