Week Ahead: Trustees Revisit Stein's Proposal; Halloween Hiking Adventure

Stein's revisited: The Village Board will meet Monday night to resume work on the 2012 budget, hear a presentation from consultants Baker Tilly regarding the 2010 Village, Sewer, and Water audits, discuss employee handbook changes and consider the construction of a concrete 'events pad' on the village-owned property that divides the west and east parking lots north of Consaul Commons. The events pad could host a , the Whitefish Bay Farmers Market and other events.

Furniture store moving in: On Tuesday the Whitefish Bay Plan Commission will discuss a conditional use permit for , who is requesting to open a new furniture store in the former Peabody's space at 121-133 E. Silver Spring Dr. The meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

School Board: The Whitefish Bay School Board's committee-of-the-whole will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday night to discuss school enrollment reports and class size reports. The personnel and policy committee will also meet to discuss School Board rules related to technology. Afterward, a special meeting will be held to certify the tax levy and consider a taxable line of credit for cash flow purposes not to exceed $1.5 million.

Schlitz gets spooky: is celebrating Halloween with a starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. There will also be a preschool carnival, movies, live raptors and more.

United Nations Day: Come celebrate the 66th anniversary of the United Nations with a in front of at noon Sunday. The ceremony will feature a raising of the United Nations and American flags, with an honor guard from Boy Scout Troop 400. A reception will follow with a welcome by Whitefish Bay Village President Julie Siegel and Joe Sauer of Boy Scout Troop 400.
