Power Outage, Slushy Roads Visited Whitefish Bay Thursday

About 1,500 local We Energies customers, including Whitefish Bay Middle School, temporarily lost electricity Thursday morning.

A tree limb was to blame for a power outage that affected almost 1,500 Whitefish Bay homes Thursday morning.

After 90 minutes without electricity, power was restored at about 9:30 a.m. for most customers. The power outage affected Whitefish Bay Middle School and the Lydell Community Center, said Whitefish Bay Superintendent Mary Gavigan.

Despite the power outage, Middle School Principal Amy Levek said the teachers were able to adapt and continue teaching.
