Homeward Bound...into the patio door: Anne Brown was by what she thought was a burglar pounding on her back patio door. After calling the cops, they determined it was a lost dog returning to the house it used to live in. She later told her story on Fox 6 Real Milwaukee.

Tragic accident: Paul Drewek was sideswiped by a car and knocked off his Vespa scooter on Lake Drive one Saturday morning. He passed away two days later. about the longtime village resident and his devotion to his family and financial career.

Dominican coach resigns: Just a few days after the district attorney's office will not prosecute allegations of sexual assault made against him, Dominican High School basketball coach and athletic director Paul Wollersheim . Fourth of July: Despite triple-digit temps, Whitefish Bay came together for a great Fourth of July parade, a fun festival at Klode Park and beautiful fireworks over Lake Michigan. We posted about 20 photos, and we received another 200 photo submissions from you, the readers! to relive the Independence Day fun.

Anytime Fitness backs out: Six months after hoisting the sign to recruit customers, Anytime Fitness no longer plans to open a fitness franchise on Silver Spring Drive. A new business, Massage Envy Spa, has received village approval to provide massages, facials and other services in the space. to read more updates from Silver Spring Drive this month.

Lights out: When more than 2,600 Whitefish Bay residents lost power on July 17, a large number of them turned to Patch for updates. We Energies did not find any power lines down, and spokesman Brian Manthey said the outage may have been caused by tree limbs touching power lines or power lines touching each other.

Fireworks fail: Most fireworks - except for sparklers and other small ground fireworks - are illegal in Whitefish Bay. That didn't stop 15 teenagers from celebrating their freedom with fireworks on the Fourth. for more.

Underage drinking party: Whitefish Bay police issued 22 underage drinking tickets after busting a party in the 600 block of East Lake Hill Court on July 19.

Upscale apartment development:  A public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 30 regarding a proposed luxury apartment development. In the future, village officials will discuss the developer's request to rezone the north municipal lots behind the Fox Bay building, as well as the details of creating a tax incremental finance district.

Pesticide hearing: A Village Board listening session about the use of pesticides in public parks drew about 40 residents, and about a dozen residents spoke to the board.
