Fourth of July in Whitefish Bay

A parade, kids games, live music and fireworks provide a full day of family fun in Whitefish Bay.

The Fourth of July is almost here, and the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation is gearing up for another huge celebration.

The 38th annual Whitefish Bay 4th of July Parade route begins at 11:30 a.m. on Kent Avenue and Silver Spring Drive, heads east to Lake Drive, then north to Klode Park. The parade features over 60 entries and lasts a little over an hour.

The festival in Klode Park begins with a flag-raising ceremony at 1 p.m. Kids games will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Klode Park and on the tennis courts.

Food will be for sale from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with popular vendors like Jack Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn, Saz's, Jake's Deli and Stone Cold Creamery. Live music kicks off at 1:15 p.m., featuring the sounds of 5 Card Studs, Southbound and Love Monkeys.

The fireworks, sponsored by Sendik's, are expected to start at 9:30 p.m.

Here are the rules for Klode Park on the Fourth:

  • No unattended chairs or blankets are allowed in the park before 4 p.m. Unattended items found before this time will be removed.
  • The park opens at 6 a.m. If you wish to have a picnic table, they are first come, first serve. Table clothes do not "hold" a table.
  • Large umbrellas, awnings or tents are only allowed on the side of the park. Please take the awnings, umbrella and tents down later in the night if they are interfering with others' view of the fireworks.
