Celebrate Memorial Day Sunday in Atwater Park

The North Shore American Legion Post and Shorewood Men's Club will hold its Memorial Day ceremony at 4 p.m. in Atwater Park, rain or shine.

There are no Memorial Day programs scheduled in Whitefish Bay this weekend, but the local North Shore American Legion Post 331 is partnering with the to honor military servicemen and women in Atwater Park Sunday afternoon.

The 13th annual Memorial Day Weekend Program will be at 4 p.m. in . The program will include patriotic music played by Shorewood High School Band, remarks by dignitaries, readings, singing by Shorewood High School and Shorewood Intermediate School students, a bagpiper, 21-gun salute and Taps.  

The keynote speaker is 2nd Lt. Nathan T. Wallin, Wisconsin Air National Guard.

The program will take place rain or shine.  

Spectators will need to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.

Immediately following the program, a cook-out will be held at the North Shore Legion Post 331, 4121 N. Wilson Drive.  Food and beverages are available at a nominal cost.
