Bay Cross Country Runners Gather Momentum

Bay Cross Country Runners Gather Momentum

The best cross country runners put in hundreds of miles during the off season, all in preparation for the two months of competition in September and October.  So, here we are at mid-season and the Whitefish Bay girls appear to be hitting their stride.

This past Saturday at the Purgold Invitational in Cudahy, the Whitefish Bay Varsity and JV girls again scored dominating wins.  The varsity girls took five of the top eight places in their event, posting a score of 24. The JV girls won their event by taking the first four places in the race, posting a score of 23.  (In cross country, the first five finishers for a team are awarded points equal to their finishing position, so a “perfect score” is 15.)
