Whitefish Bay Masters Swimmers Golden at Winter Short Course Meters State Championships
The Whitefish Bay Masters Swim won club/workout group championship of the State SCM (25m pool) championship in West Bend on December 7, 2013. Whitefish Bay had 348 overall points to the Elmbrook Masters 276 and Walter Schroeder YMCA 171 points. Whitefish Bay Masters Women also were the best group. They accumulated 227 points to second place Elmbrook Masters 186. Whitefish Bay Masters men were 4th behind Schroeder, Elmbrook and Libertyville (IL)Masters.
The WFB masters set 6 individual State records:
In the Women’s 18-24 age group Molly Woodford crushed the records in both the 200m free and the 100m Butterfly.

Women’s 50-54 Karen Kimple destroyed the record in the 400m Individual Medley.
The men’s 30-34 had Mike Bentley solidly breaking the records in the 400m Individual Medley and the 200m free.

Coach Dave Clark set the record in the 200m Breast for the men’s 55-59 age group to round out the individual records.
The team also set 4 relay records and aided in setting 2 additional records:
Women’s 100-119 (combined ages of relay members) 800m Free relay of Sonja Johanssen, Sarah Milia, Molly Woodford and Cassie McCauley
Mixed (2 women/2 men) 160-199 800m free relay of Linda Fitzgerald, Katy Sommer, Jeff Rogers and Dan DeWeerdt
Mixed 200-239 400m free relay Dave Drury, Clark, Karen Kimple and Linda Fitzgerald

3 of our WFB masters Christina Balcer, Carly Meuer and Mike Bently combined with one of the WI Masters swimmer Carl Kaiser to set records in the 72-100 mixed 400m and 800m Free relays.
