Whitefish Bay Masters have top swims at USMS Nationals in Indianapolis

Whitefish bay masters swimming results at the USMS National championships.

The Whitefish Bay Masters 5am swim group (part of Wisconsin Masters Aquatic Club) had a number of top 10 finishes,earned medals and helped the Wisconsin Masters Aquatic club to a 4th place regional team finish at The USMS National meet in Indianapolis this past weekend. The Wisconsin Masters Aquatic Club finished 4th with 994.50 points in the regional teams behind Michigan Masters (1926) Illinois Masters (1557.50) and Colorado Masters (1056.50).

Debbie Katzman finished 9th in the 1650 free in 22:51.62 as well as 11th in the 200Fly with 3:12.82 in the Women's 45-49 age group.

Linda Fitzgerald finished 6th in the 200 Fly with a 3:29.62. She also finished 13th in both the 400IM 6:25.40 and 1000 free in the Women's 40-44 age group.

Karen Kimple had a 4th place finish in the 1650 free (21:44.07), 7th place finishes in the 200 Breast (3:02.14) and 200IM (2:44.43), an 8th place finish in the 400IM (5:48.64)Β  and a 10th place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:25.08) as well as a 16th place in the 50 breast (39.86).Β  All those finishes in the Woman's 50-55 age group. Karen was also part of 2 top 10 relays a 6th place in the Women's 45+ 200 free relay and an 8th in the woman's 18+ 200 Medlay realy.

The WFB Masters coach Dave Clark in the men's 55-59 age group finished 6th in the 1650 (20:01.87) 7th in the 200 breast (2:46.08) 9th in the 400IM in a State Record time of 5:15.40 almost 10 seconds under the old state record!

Dave was also part of 2 top relays in the Men's 55+ age group. The 200 medley relay was 5th and the 200 free relay was 7th.

The next session for the WFB Masters group starts Tuesday May 28th and can be signed up for online at the WFB recreation department website.
