Dr. Demond Means Elected to SDC Board

The Board of the Social Development Commission (SDC) has a new member.  Dr. Demond Means was selected in a Special Election for SDC’s District One.

Dr. Means received the most write-in votes in the special election that fills one of the six publicly elected positions on the 18-person Board for SDC.  He edged out Donna Shepard in the voting by SDC District One residents that was held at the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center.  He accepted the position upon being informed of the election results and will be sworn in by the Milwaukee County Clerk in the near future. As a member of the SDC Board, he will help draw up and implement policy for the anti-poverty agency.

Dr. Means currently serves as the Superintendent of the Mequon-Thiensville School District.  In accepting the position on the SDC Board, he stated he is excited and honored and “looks forward to helping Milwaukee County residents through the agency”.
