Voting will be held Friday at six sites across the County to elect six of the 18 members of the SDC Board of Commissioners.  The polls will be open from 8 am to 6 pm for residents at least 18 years old.  Residents will need to vote in the SDC district in which they live.  Detailed district maps as well as the candidates whose names will be on the ballots can be seen on the agency website at www.cr-sdc.org

Persons wishing to vote will need to have acceptable proof of residence.  This can include such things as a current driver’s license, an up to date identification card from a state agency, or a residential lease effective for the time period that includes April 12th.  Some electronic versions of these documents may be presented at the polling sites as proof of district residence.

The SDC Board is currently in the process of redefining the anti-poverty agency that serves Milwaukee County.  Board members will be hiring in coming months a permanent CEO to lead the agency as well as address pending federal sequestration budgets cuts.  By electing active members to the Board, area residents will insure their voices are heard at the agency while this important work is accomplished.
