The arrival of new businesses, renovations and relocations was also celebrated at the Whitefish Bay BID's annual awards ceremony Thursday night.

The Whitefish Bay Business Improvement District honored local businesses and individuals at its annual awards ceremony at Fox Bay Cinema Grill on Thursday night.

BID officials presented three awards at the ceremony:

  • Aimee Matchette, owner of Elements Therapeutic Massage received a Commitment to the Community award in recognition of her enthusiasm and involvement with the BID, her cross promotion of other businesses within the district, her generosity to so many community causes, and for her participation in BID initiatives.
  • Placesetters was named a Treasure of the Bay in honor of their enduring dedication to the shopping district and the community and for the presence of their fabulous store since 1977.
  • The President’s Award for Outstanding Business was bestowed upon Breadsmith of Whitefish Bay, a longstanding establishment and considerable landmark in the district. In addition to the Breadsmith storefront on Silver Spring Drive, Breadsmith Franchising is based in Whitefish Bay and has been opening stores throughout the U.S., with Breadsmith stores now in seventeen states!

The festivities also recognized businesses in the district, that opened in the past year, including ATI Physical Therapy, Barden Orthodontics, CherryBerry, Dunkin Donuts, Massage Envy, Rustam’s Gallery of Rugs, and Sweet Frog as well as several businesses that invested in new locations or major remodels in the past year: Gallery 505, Hounds Around Town, Indulge Studios, Starbucks, and The Great Frame Up of Whitefish Bay.

“We are honored to have so many establishments that are actively involved in BID events,” said John Stuhlmacher, BID Board President. “Their energy and devotion benefits every establishment within the district, strengthening the local economy and the community.”
