Elements East Moving to New Shorewood Development

After 10 years in Whitefish Bay, the co-owner of Elements East announced the Asian imports retailer will move to being constructed on North Oakland Avenue.

Elements East started looking for a new location after the building at 109 E. Silver Spring Dr. Elements East, which specializes in art, furniture and other accessories from Asia, will stay in its current location through the end of the year.

"This has been a great place to be," Elements East owner Alicia Urban said of Silver Spring Drive. "We love the community we’re in, the support we get from the neighbors and the other people that come to shop in Whitefish Bay. It's been a great 10 years, even through the tough times of road construction."

Nevaeh Medispa, formerly located in the adjoining space, has also moved to Shorewood.

Urban said she hoped to stay on Silver Spring, but the new location is not far away for her Whitefish Bay customers.

 “What is happening on that end of Oakland is very exciting. It is very pro-business and it is a really exciting group of other businesses in that area,” she said. “It’s going to be fun to be in such a lively upcoming area, being in new construction and getting to create a new space.”

owner John Stuhlmacher, the Chairman of the Whitefish Bay Business Improvement District, said Elements East inquired about staying on Silver Spring Drive, but it was difficult to find a space that was large enough to meet the current business' footprint.

"We wanted to see them stay on the street, but it was just one of those unique situations," he said.

Stuhlmacher said Elements East inquired about retail incentive grants to stay on the street, but the rules of the grant do not allow funds to be granted to existing businesses.

The new Shorewood development, coined Ravenna, will also feature Yo Mama, a yogurt shop in Wauwatosa with plans of opening another location in Brookfield; Indulgence Chocolatiers, a Waukesha-based artisan chocolate wholesaler opening its first store; and Performance Running Outfitters, which will move from its temporary space in Shorewood at 4401 N. Oakland Ave.

Milwaukee developer WiRED Properties announced the new tenants Thursday. The developer recently broke ground on the $7 million project at 4533 N. Oakland Ave., across the street from its recently finished project, . The development is expected to wrap-up by July, with retailers opening doors on July 4.
