Dunkin' Donuts Opening March 12 in Whitefish Bay

The Whitefish Bay location has a design and menu unlike any other Dunkin' Donuts in the area.

Dunkin' Donuts employees were hard at work setting up kitchen appliances this week, but it won't be long until coffee is brewing and donuts are baking.

The Whitefish Bay franchise is scheduled to open March 12 in the east end of the Baysider Retail Center, 106 W. Silver Spring Dr.

John Clark, who runs the franchise group opening six Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the Milwaukee area this year, said he graduated from Nicolet High School and has a lot of friends in the area that are champing at the bit waiting for Dunkin'.

"People are definitely excited," he said.

The Whitefish Bay location has a different feel than the Menomonee Falls and Oak Creek locations that opened last year and the Miller Parkway location that is opening in April. The walls of the Bay location are a light mocha brown, with large windows and white, orange and brown accents throughout the space.

Clark said the Whitefish Bay store will also have some unique menu items, such as flavored sparkling water, bakery sandwiches and even hummus. The menu also includes the basics like coffee, bagels, and of course, doughnuts.

"We understand that people don't just want coffee," he said. "If you want to come in and get a coffee or a latte, but you also want to grab a quick yogurt, you can do that here."

Clark's company, titled the Milwaukee Coffee Brewing Company, has already brought two Dunkin' Donuts to the Milwaukee area and plans to plant another six this year. The group has plans to open a total of 35 locations over a five-year period, stretching as far out as Kenosha and Janesville.
