Breadsmith Planning to Move Next Door

The transition will take place in early 2014.

Whitefish Bay's Breadsmith shop will be relocating, but it shouldn't be hard to find the new location.

The local bread franchise at 418 E. Silver Spring Dr. has plans to move next door to the space at 420 Silver Spring Dr., which was previously occupied by Ruhama's Yarn and Needlepoint. The store expects to stay in its current location until making the move in the first part of 2014.

Breadsmith's marketing manager Kristi Carlson said the Whitefish Bay store was in the market for a new space, because sales are up and more employees have been added: one manager and several others in production and retail. To accommodate their growth, they jumped at the opportunity to gain an additional 450 square feet in the old Ruhama's space.

"This allows us to relocate to a new space without skipping a beat or closing for construction," Carlson said. "We're hoping for a completely seamless transition, where customers will walk in one door on one day and walk in another door the next day."

The store will also use the relocation as an opportunity to upgrade its equipment and redesign its retail lobby to better serve customers.
