(Home team in CAPS)

BILLS (-3) vs. Chiefs

First off, there's no way that the Bills perform like they did in last week's total implosion.  Any projections for Buffalo to have a top-five defense may have been overblown, but the Bills indisputably have playmakers who won't be walked over week after week.  As for the Chiefs, they were able to put up points in Week One, but I've never really trusted Matt Cassel to deliver on the road, and Ralph Wilson Stadium should be rocking for the Bills' home opener.

SEAHAWKS (+3) over Cowboys

Find out what's happening in Whitefish Baywith free, real-time updates from Patch.

This game will show if anything has truly changed in Dallas.  During the Tony Romo era, the Cowboys have made a habit of following big wins with letdowns in which they look like a different team.  Seattle's defense will put up stiff resistance at home, and Russell Wilson will make just enough plays to get the first win of his NFL career.

Redskins (-3.5) over RAMS

I'm not completely sold on RGIII, but I'm buying enough of him to not be scared of laying 3.5 points in St. Louis.

Texans (-7) vs. JAGUARS

The Jaguars have risen up at home in the past to surprise superior teams (last year's Monday night win against Baltimore comes to mind).  The Texans, however, have an air of professionalism that makes it seem unlikely that they'll fall into the trap of taking the Jaguars lightly.  The Texans have a balanced offense and a top-tier defense, which makes them a relatively consistent week-to-week performer that bettors love.  I'm not sure why I was scared off by the points they were laying last weekend, but I won't make the same mistake twice.

FALCONS (-3) over Broncos

Peyton Manning has historically been money in prime time, and last week's performance makes it seem ridiculous that retirement was a distinct possibility only months ago.  Still, the Falcons are a tough draw in the Georgia Dome, and the Atlanta offense will be difficult to slow down unless the Broncos can generate a couple turnovers.  The Broncos' front seven were able to generate consistent pressure against Ben Roethlisberger last week, but Atlanta's offensive line is better than that of Pittsburgh, and the Falcons offense is overall a bit more varied.  The Falcons have the look of a team that will start the season hot, and I don't see three points being enough to keep them from covering.
