Meet Liz Rentmeester, New Middle School Teacher

Ms. Rentmeester was previously a substitute teacher at Whitefish Bay Middle School.

The Whitefish Bay School District hired 17 new teachers this year, and Whitefish Bay Patch hopes to introduce all of them to the community before the school year gets underway.

Today we'll introduce you to Liz Rentmeester.

Teaching position: I will be teaching at the middle school: 6th grade Language Arts, 6th grade Read 180 and an 8th grade Comp class.

Where are you from? I am originally from Green Bay (Go Pack) and I currently live in Hartford.

Education/experience: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in December 2010. Since then, I had the opportunity to be a long-term substitute in both Language Arts and/or Social Studies at Whitefish Bay Middle School, Webster Transitional School in Cedarburg, and Brown Deer Middle School.

Why did you choose Whitefish Bay? After my long term substitute teaching positions in the district, I knew I wanted to continue to be part of such a connected and welcoming community.

Hobbies: Some of my hobbies include running (I ran my first marathon in May), bowling, reading, baking and shopping!

Favorite place you've ever visited: The favorite place I have visited is Washington D.C. because I got to see all the national landmarks and monuments, and I also got to visit my younger brother who is stationed there!
