Green Day in the Bay

Green Day in the Bay promotes healthy and eco-conscious environment by bringing people together to learn and celebrate earth friendly activities.

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Join Marcela Perea of CrossFit 100 by MPower for a free workout. All fitness levels are welcome. Bring a yoga mat or towel and hand weights . Contact Marcela at mpowertotalfitness.com to sign up for this great workout.

9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Volunteers will pick up trash in our streets, parks and beaches. To reserve a team or a spot on a team, email GDIB@wfbcivicfoundation.org.

10 a.m.: A representative of Bird City Wisconsin will make a presentation recognizing the village's new status as a Bird City.

10 a.m. to noon: The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin will be collecting donated bicycles, which will be repaired and distributed to children around the Milwaukee area to aid in teaching children about healthy lifestyle choices.

Visit earth-friendly displays such as natural playscapes provided by the Sustainable Landscape Consortium and Greener Roofs and Gardens. Other exhibitors include the Whitefish Bay Farmer’s Market, Whitefish Bay Community Garden, Healthy Communities Project, Earthcare Natural Lawn and Landscapes, Forester Tree Service, The Green Team, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, Bayside Garden Center and more.

Recycling of computers and other electronics will be available, as well as secure shredding of old documents.  Due to processing costs, a $10 fee will be assessed for computer monitors. Goodwill will collect used household items but not furniture.

Green Day in the Bay is coordinated by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation and is sponsored in part by Bayside Garden Center. Free give-aways include reusable grocery totes, microfiber cleaning cloths, live plants and bird treats.
