There are no planned Memorial Day ceremonies in the village this weekend, but the weather forecast is looking good for Holy Family's Guardian Angel Run/Walk on Monday morning.

The eighth annual run/walk event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. at , 4849 N Wildwood Ave. The event started in 2003 by school parents Rob and Cza Helf in memory of their son Peter.

Official times are recorded and awards are announced by age category.  A children's mini-race around the parish campus and block party cook-out follow the run. If you haven't signed up yet, there is a $20 fee for adults and a suggested donation for kids. The sign-up form is here.

While there are no planned Memorial Day celebrations in the village, North Shore American Legion Post 331 will host a Memorial Day celebration at Atwater Park.
