Pumpkin Sale Kicks Off at United Methodist

All proceeds will go to benefit the church's missions to feed the hungry or send youth on trips to Appalachia to repair homes for those living in poverty.

The pumpkins have arrived for the annual pumpkin sale at United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay.

The pumpkin sale begins today, Oct. 1, and will be held through Oct. 29. Sale hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. All proceeds will go to benefit missions to feed the hungry and to send youth on trips to Appalachia to repair homes for those living in poverty.

New this year is a Trunk-or-Treating event on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the adjacent parking lot.  Children and families are invited to come in costume and trick or treat from station to station, decorate a free pumpkin and enjoy food and fun.  The youth missions team will be selling chili and hot dogs to raise money for a Guatemala mission trip during the event.

Purchasing a $20 pumpkin allows the church to accomplish one of the following things:

  • Provide a foot of siding for our Appalachia Service Project
  • Provide six hot meals through local meal programs
  • Provide one set of brackets to install a cooking oven, removing a dangerous coal fire pit from a home in Guatemala.

The church is located at 819 East Silver Spring Drive in Whitefish Bay. For more information contact Melissa Ugland at mebaug@yahoo.com .
